Our Story
From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders in Outdoor Lighting
McKay Landscape Lighting began as a lawn service, but everything changed when founder Jerry McKay attended a three-day seminar in California led by low-voltage lighting pioneer Bill Locklin. Inspired by the possibilities, Jerry introduced professional landscape lighting to Omaha—one postcard, home show, and nighttime demo at a time.
As demand grew, we transitioned fully to outdoor lighting design and installation, selling the lawn service to focus exclusively on creating beautifully illuminated spaces. Now, with over 30 years in business, we’re proud to have transformed countless properties and built lasting relationships with our customers.
