Tree Lighting
Lighting trees is one of our specialties. Depending on the type and size of the tree, we may recommend using uplighting and/or downlighting. Uplighting highlights the detail of the tree and canopy. Downlighting is used to achieve a moonlighting effect and cast natural shadows on the ground.
Tree Lighting
Tree lighting is one of the most effective ways to add depth, drama, and visual interest to an outdoor lighting design. By selectively illuminating trunks, branches, and canopies, trees become natural focal points that draw the eye throughout the landscape.
At McKay Landscape Lighting, we evaluate the landscape thoroughly to determine the best lighting technique and fixture placement. Some trees are best highlighted with subtle uplighting that emphasizes texture and form, while others benefit from broader illumination that showcases the full canopy structure. We often combine uplighting with downlighting from trees that are larger in size.
Whether illuminating a signature specimen tree near the front entrance or creating layers of light throughout the property, tree lighting helps create a richer, more immersive nighttime experience while enhancing the natural beauty of the landscape.
